Daniel Madrzykowski, PE, FSFPE

Daniel Madrzykowski is a fire protection engineer for the Building and Fire Research Laboratory, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Dan has a Masters of Science degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland. During the past 25 years, he has conducted research in the areas of fire suppression, large fire measurements, fire investigation and fire fighter safety. Dan is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and his currently serving on the Technical Committees on Fire Service Training and Fire Investigations. He is a Fellow of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), and serves on their board of directors. Dan is also a member of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors. In April of 2009 he was named their Instructor of the Year. Dan has also assisted in the development of several classes for the National Fire Academy and for the IAAI website, www.cfitrainer.net.
