Inspector John McDonough - New South Wales Fire Brigades

John McDonough has been a firefighter for 22 years and is an Inspector with the NSW Fire Brigades Australia (NSWFB). He is currently the Manager of the Fire Suppression Training Section responsible for the Compartment Fire Behaviour Training (CFBT) that has been delivered to over 120 CFBT instructors and all permanent, retained and recruit firefighters.
John is a co-author of 3D Fire fighting – Training, Tactics and Techniques, which in published in the USA by FPP/IFSTA. John is currently the chairperson for the Australasian Fire Authorities Council CFBT Working Group. In 2009 he was awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal for his work in structural firefighting training and the development of RescuED. John was recently awarded the Australian Fire Services Medal (AFSM) for his contribution to fire service training.
