Karel Lambert is working as a battalion chief in the Brussels Fire Department. He has a degree in engineering and masters in occupational safety & health. He manages the CFBT program of the BFD and two other schools in Belgium. Karel is a senior member of the Flemish firefighter association and presides over a consultative body engaged in firefighter training. He is an author of Dutch texts about firefighting that have also been translated in French.

Karel is also a volunteer firefighter in a small brigade near Bruges.
