Cancer is the #1 killer of firefighters. On World Cancer Day we honor those we have lost to – or are currently fighting – occupational cancer. And, we recommit to minimizing our exposure to carcinogens & the forever chemicals (PFAS) in our PPE that are linked to cancer.
Firefighters work in complex environments which can result in carcinogenic exposures, which can sadly lead to cancer diagnoses.
To support our firefighters, we've invested $6M in the Occupational Cancer Research Centre to identify causes of workplace cancers & prevent them.
