On behalf of our Peer Support Team, for the first time ever there is a great opportunity for an Interactive Mental Health Information Town Hall for Families of First Responders brought to us by the Canadian Institute for Public Safety, Research and Treatment (CISPRT) . CIPSRT is proud to partner with the Families Matter Research group to host: From Input to Action: An Interactive Virtual Town Hall for the Families of Public Safety Personnel (PSP). This virtual event, held on January 27, 2022 at 11:00-13:00 EST is the first opportunity for families to engage with this ground-breaking research group. The goal of the session is to collect information about:
What do PSP families need to know about what it means to be on the job?
What needs to be done to support PSP families in the future?
Bell Let's Talk reminds us that talking about mental health is important. It helps remove the stigma, promotes treatment, and allows people to heal. If you're feeling overwhelmed, please reach out for help – you are not alone! If you know someone who is struggling, start the conversation.
Agreed, promises are not enough! The Government of Ontario & WSIB must act on the recommendations of the Occupational Disease Reform Alliance to ensure injured workers and their families receive the support and compensation they deserve.
