It’s Red Dress Day, the National Day of Awareness for MMIWG2S+. Inspired by Métis artist Jamie Black who started hanging red dresses in public spaces across Winnipeg to honour and raise awareness about missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. Today, we are hanging red dresses at Wabano and in our homes to commemorate those who are missing and lost.
