Great opportunity today to meet with members of the Ottawa Professional Fire Fighters' Association this morning.

We had a chance to discuss the needs of the growing population and needing more full time career firefighters to fill their needs since there’s been no increase in over 10 years.

We know our emergency services and first responders are critical to saving lives and I will continue to highlight the need to expand our staffing to meeting our Official Plan.

Great conversation with Councillor Darouze about public safety and the need to ensure the capacity of Ottawa's fire service keeps pace with population growth and intensification. We discussed the work of Operations & Safety as well as the support divisions that provide services across Ottawa's urban & rural communities (Maintenance, Communications, Training, Air Management, Prevention).

Members of the Executive, Honour Guard & other L162 members are in Colorado Springs with the families of the fallen for the 2023 IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial. The names of 9 Ottawa firefighters who died in the line of duty will be added to the memorial wall this weekend. (L to R) James Band, Charles E. Brown, Patrick T.
